Full Sail Partners has identified three primary services to provide a complete roadmap to transition your data and staff to Vantagepoint or Vision 7.6. Please note that your firm will need to be upgraded to Vision 7.6 before upgrading to Vantagepoint. 

Technical Requirements & Mapping
Full Sail Partners' technical consultants will provide your firm with the necessary background to ensure an efficient and timely installation. Our technical consultants will:

  • Review the latest hardware requirements designed to maximize Microsoft's latest operating system and SQL version
  • Strategize on deployment options to transition prior versions of Vision to Vision 7.6
  • Identify server solutions and customized reporting needs
  • Map out the steps to transition to Vision 7.6

Here are a few things to pay special attention to when migrating from Vision 5.1 to 6:

  • Vision 6.x and higher is not compatible with any prior version of Vision and cannot be installed side-by-side. That means it needs its own environment to be installed and tested.
  • Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services is utilized as the Report Management platform as of Vision 6.x and higher. Any Actuate reports in Vision 5.x will need to be rewritten.
  • A thorough review of your existing hardware specification against Deltek's new recommendations for capability and performance should be performed.
  • Microsoft® SQL 2008 R2 Reporting Services is required.  

Here are a few things to pay special attention to when migrating from Vision 6.x to 7.x:

  • Vision 7.x and higher is not compatible with any prior version of Vision and cannot be installed side-by-side. That means it needs its own environment to be installed and tested.
  • A thorough review of your existing hardware specification against Deltek's new recommendations for capability and performance should be performed.
  • Microsoft® SQL 2008 R2 Reporting Services is required. We recommend Microsoft® SQL 2012.   

30 Days of Hosting and Test Conversion to Vision 7.6
Full Sail Partners will convert your data to Vision 7.6, provide a test environment, and host your information for 30 days. Establish a test environment to:

  • Allow users to test and review the latest features against your own data
  • Review existing business processes to maximize Vision functionality and incorporate industry best practices
  • Maintain your current production environment while allowing an environment to take the necessary steps to move to Vision 7.6.

Consulting Services 
Full Sail Partners application consultants will provide a 1-2 hour overview on the following areas:

  • Contract Management and associated reporting
  • Overview of Custom Info Centers
  • Credit Memo in billing
  • Employee Realization
  • Fee Revenue Allocation
  • Online Check review
  • Simplified security

For those migrating to 7.6, other areas that may be covered are:

  • Overview on new features related to usability and reporting including:
    - Enhancements to security, lookups, workflows, screen designer, and reporting options
    - New finance features (transaction center approval, three-part check, AP voucher and expense document attachment, client invoice process and approvals, etc.)
    - Grid views in the info centers (grouping, expand/collapse, exporting to excel)
  • Provide guidance and a checklist of key items to review in your test environment
