AI & Automation
How does Dela support automating time and expense capture?
Dela, Deltek’s AI agent within Vantagepoint, can help streamline tasks like time and expense entry. For example, users can prompt it to log time to a project. While capabilities are still evolving, it’s part of a broader push toward more AI-driven automation in the platform.
Project Setup & Configuration
Is it possible to change the charge type after a project has already been opened in Vantagepoint?
Generally, no. Once transactions or billing terms have been applied, the charge type is locked. A project set up as promotional cannot later be converted to billable after activity has begun.
Does Contract Management update the budgets, or do you have to update budgets separately?
If referring to the Budget & Revenue tab in Deltek Vision, then yes, the contract management can be set to automatically update the fee/compensation fields. If referring to the project budgets within Vision/Vantagepoint, then no, that is two separate functions.
AP, AR & Vendor Management
Do we have to assign an indirect expense account for each vendor?
No—it’s optional. If you assign one, it will default when entering vouchers. If not, the account field remains blank and must be selected manually. Defaults can help streamline data entry and improve consistency, especially for frequently used vendors.
For clients, can you set AR terms at the client level rather than on each project?
No, all payment terms are set at the project level.
How does workflow approval on AP vouchers work?

Reporting & Financial Review
Can you drill into transactions from the GL Account Review screen?
No. The GL Account Review screen is intended as a high-level review tool and does not support drill-down into transactions. For detailed analysis, you’ll need to access the posting sequence or run reports.
In GL Account Review, can you click through to transactions like in Vision?
No—similar to above, there are no hyperlinks or drill-through capabilities in this view. It’s designed for quick review rather than detailed investigation.
Dashboards & User Experience
Are the dashboards shown out-of-the-box or custom?
The dashboards shown are out-of-the-box. That said, they are highly configurable—users can rearrange, resize, and add different dashparts to tailor the experience to specific roles or preferences.
Documents & Attachments
Can you attach documents to a journal entry?
Yes. You can attach supporting documentation to journal entries, and document management capabilities continue to expand across the system—including newer options within Contract Management.
Do uploaded documents slow down the system, or is that not an issue since it’s cloud-based?
Document storage and attachments are a standard and expanding feature within Vantagepoint, and this is not typically an issue.
Mobile & Usability
Is there a way to control or reduce the size of receipt images captured in the mobile app or desktop?
Receipts are converted to pdf upon import, which reduces the size from the original picture file, but they can still be somewhat large, depending on the source material.
